The Mojams Story

The Mojams were founded in April 2004, by Colin Murphy & Garry Walsh, who had both lived in the Mossvale/Shortroods/Gockston area of Paisley since they were kids !

They got together & decided to set-up a 7-A-Side football team, & named it Mossvale/St James', after the local primary schools.

The children in the original team, shortened the name to "The Mojams", by taking the first few letters of each school & putting them together.

Within a few weeks, parents & local people who lived and worked in the community offered great support, with help in running the team, organising sponsorship & fundraising.

With sponsorship from local business, the Beechwood Community Centre & the janitor of Mossvale/St James' Primary School, additional 7-A-Side teams were set-up.

The Mojams were originally named The Mojams White, Green or Blue, after the original colours of their first strip.

Nowadays the teams play in either Navy/Sky Blue or Sky Blue/White.

There are now TEN teams in total, ranging from a creche team, which takes in children from four onwards, rising to the under 15's team.

The club currently have seventeen coaches, who have all attained their coaching badges at the required levels.

The club is represented by a chairman, Paul McCarthy, vice-chairman, Colin McIntyre, secretary,
Stephanie Earley, & treasurer, Garry Walsh.
